Kolkata, 16 July (H.S.): A married woman has accused a man of repeatedly raping and sexually exploiting her by blackmailing her with intimate videos and photographs in the Bansdroni area of south Kolkata. The police have registered a case and launched an investigation. No arrests have been made so far.

Police sources told on Thursday that the victim initially lodged a Zero FIR at Metiabruz Police Station, which was later transferred to Bansdroni Police Station as part of the alleged offence falls under its jurisdiction.

In her complaint, the woman stated that she met the accused in 2019 through a mutual friend on Facebook. Their acquaintance gradually developed into a friendship, and the man allegedly started visiting her residence in her husband's absence.

The complainant alleged that during a trip to a hotel, the accused raped her and secretly recorded the incident besides taking intimate photographs. She claimed that he subsequently used the videos and photographs to threaten her and repeatedly forced her into sexual relations against her will over the following years.

The police said the accused is a resident of Brahmapur under Bansdroni police station area. The victim's statement has been recorded, and investigators are examining all aspects of the allegations. The accused has not yet been arrested.
