Lucknow, 14 July (HS): On the occasion of World Youth Skills
Day-2026, a grand state level program will be organized by Uttar Pradesh Skill
Development Mission, Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship on July 15 at Indira Gandhi Pratishthan, Lucknow. In this
program to be chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, many ambitious schemes
related to skill development, employment, entrepreneurship and industries will
be launched. The objective of the program is to provide the youth of the state
with modern skills, better employment opportunities and new energy towards
self-reliance. State Minister (Independent Charge) of the Department of
Vocational Education, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Kapil Dev Agarwal
will be present in the program.
The program will begin with the Chief Minister inaugurating
and observing the Skill Development Exhibition. The exhibition will showcase
modern technologies, innovations, and skill-based products developed by various
training institutes, ITIs, and trainees. The Chief Minister will also interact
with the trainees and learn about their experiences. During the program,
several important MoUs will be signed with various prestigious industrial
institutions. These agreements aim to link the training system with the actual
needs of industries, increase employment opportunities, and provide better
placements to trained youth.
To strengthen digital governance, the Chief Minister will
launch the Kaushal Sarathi and Kaushal Setu modules.
The Kaushal Sarathi portal will provide year-wise details of all
training centers in the state online, while Kaushal Setu will make
the online onboarding of training providers more transparent, simple, and
technology-based. On this occasion, the Chief Minister will release the Kaushalam
booklet, which will compile the department's achievements, special campaigns,
and key initiatives related to skill development. An Employability and
Soft Skills Manual will also be released, which will help trainees
develop practical skills, personality development, and skills in line with
industry expectations.
The program will feature a special video film based on the
Earn While Learn scheme operated at government industrial training
institutes. Success stories of young people who have earned income while
receiving training will be presented. Five successful youth who have benefited
from various departmental schemes will share their experiences and explain how
skills training has transformed their lives and led them on the path to
employment, self-employment, and self-reliance.
At the event, 21 young icons who have secured high-paying
positions and demonstrated outstanding performance will be honored.
Additionally, representatives from state-run ITIs, training providers, and
project implementation agencies who have performed exceptionally well will also
be honored. In the closing session, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will provide
guidance to youth on skills development, employment, innovation, startups, and
their role in building a self-reliant India.
