SIMFEROPOL, June 7 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The Ukrainian armed forces have struck a bridge near the village of Chongar (also known as Chonhar) in the Kherson Region on the border with Crimea, temporarily blocking traffic through the Dzhankoy checkpoint, Kherson Governor Vladimir Saldo said on Sunday.
As a result of last night's drone attack, the bridge near the settlement of Chongar was damaged. For security reasons, traffic through the Dzhankoy checkpoint is temporarily blocked, Saldo said on the Max platform.
Vehicles were being rerouted through the Armyansk (Armiansk) and Perekop border checkpoints, the governor said.
Specialized services are working at the site, he noted, adding that the timeline for restoring traffic would be announced separately.
Vladimir Vasilenko, spokesman for the regional governor, told RIA Novosti that there are no casualties from the strike on the bridge.
