Guwahati, 07 June (HS): Dispur Police arrested five youths from Nagaland on Sunday in connection with the alleged assault of an Assamese youth in Guwahati's Ganeshguri area, officials said.

The victim, identified as Simu Das of Pathsala, was reportedly attacked in a public place during an altercation. According to police sources, the accused allegedly assaulted Das and issued threats during the incident, causing concern among people present in the area.

Following the complaint, Dispur Police launched a prompt investigation and apprehended all five accused persons. The motive behind the incident has not yet been officially revealed.

Police said the arrested youths are being questioned and further investigation is underway to determine the sequence of events and circumstances surrounding the assault.

The incident has drawn attention from local residents, who have called for strict legal action against those involved.-----------
