
Application process for State Teacher Award-2025 will begin
on June 7
Teachers who have completed 15 years of regular service will
be able to apply on Prerna portal till June 30
Lucknow, 04 June (HS): Under the leadership of Chief
Minister Yogi Adityanath, the state government is committed to continuously
improving the quality of education and encouraging outstanding teachers. In
this regard, the Basic Education Department has released the selection process,
guidelines, and timetable for the State Teacher Award-2025. Eligible teachers
will be able to apply online through the department's Prerna portal from June 7
to June 30, 2026.
State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent
Charge) Sandeep Singh said that the State Teacher Awards are an important means
of recognizing teachers' outstanding work, innovations, and their contributions
to the overall development of students. He said that teachers are the
cornerstone of nation-building, and recognizing and encouraging their
outstanding work is a priority of the state government.
The application process for the award will be completely
online and no offline applications will be accepted. Interested teachers will
be able to submit their application and online portfolio on the Prerna portal
within the stipulated period. Only regularly employed teachers and female
teachers will be eligible for the State Teacher Award. The applicant must have
completed a minimum of 15 years of regular service and should have at least
five years left for retirement. Contract teachers, Shiksha Mitra, retired
teachers or teachers previously awarded at the state or national level will not
be eligible for this award.
Minister Sandeep Singh stated that the state government is
constantly striving to encourage innovation, quality, and excellence among
teachers. The State Teacher Award will honor teachers who have made significant
contributions to strengthening the education system through their dedication,
innovation, and hard work. He urged all eligible teachers to apply within the
stipulated timeframe, stating that this award is an important opportunity to
recognize their outstanding work at the state level.
According to instructions issued by Director of Education
(Basic) Anil Bhushan Chaturvedi, district selection committees will examine,
document, and evaluate the received applications from July 1 to July 20. After
this, the selected applications will be forwarded to the State Selection
Committee. The process of re-evaluation, presentation, and interview will be
completed at the state level from August 1 to August 14.
Teachers will be evaluated for the State Teacher Award based
on a 100-point system. This includes criteria such as increased school
enrollment, reduced dropout rates, achieving the goals of the Nipun Bharat
Mission, innovative teaching, use of digital technology, student academic
achievement, community participation, and contribution to school development. 40
points are allocated for objective criteria, 40 points for performance-based
activities, and 20 points for presentations and interviews.
