
Thane, 27 June (HS): MAHA-TET paper leakage has Delhi and Haryana connection.
The paper leakage was detected on Saturday morning when Thane Police took custody
of some people from Bhiwandi possessing copies of the question papers. The
examination scheduled for June 28 has been cancelled by the Maharashtra State
Examination Council following the detection of the paper leakage.
Additional
Commissioner of Police Ashok Dudhe during a press conference on Saturday
informed that the accused Rajiv Shahu and Akash Kumar are residents of Bihar,
and Dheeraj Kumar is from Haryana. Police also detected agreement to hand over
the copies for Rs 1.50 crore.
The four
sets of the question papers were brought from Delhi to Bhiwandi. Police also
seized their mobile phones and credit cards. Police were interrogating them to
reach at the master of the racket.
The
seized question papers were referred to the Examination Council for
verification. Preliminary investigation did not inform about involvement of any
staff of the Examination Council
The
Council has cancelled the examination. Fresh dates will be announced later.
Those who have enrolled for the Teachers Eligibility Test will not be required
to apply again and pay any additional fees, the Council has informed.
