
MOSCOW, June 27 (HS/RIA Novosti) - The Joint Maritime Information Center (JMIC) on Saturday increased the security threat level for merchant vessels in the Strait of Hormuz.
Earlier in the day, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said that an unidentified projectile had hit a tanker in the Strait of Hormuz.
The maritime security threat level in the SoH has increased to SUBSTANTIAL following attacks on merchant vessels, the statement read.
On Thursday, the Iranian Persian Gulf Strait Authority (PGSA) said that Iran does not guarantee the safe passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz on unauthorized routes.
