Bahrain Says Iran Launched Drone Attack on Its Territory

DOHA, June 27 (HS/RIA Novosti) - Bahrain’s Foreign Ministry said Iran launched a drone attack on the kingdom’s territory at dawn on Saturday.

The foreign ministry expresses Bahrain’s strong condemnation of the attack on its territory carried out at dawn today, Saturday, June 27, using several Iranian unmanned aerial vehicles, the ministry was quoted as saying by state-owned Bahrain News Agency (BNA).

The Bahraini Foreign Ministry said Iran bears responsibility for undermining peace initiatives.

The US Central Command on Friday confirmed strikes on Iran in response to an alleged attack on a commercial vessel in the Strait of Hormuz. Later, the Iranian military carried out strikes against several US military facilities in the Middle East.

On February 28, the United States and Israel launched strikes on targets in Iran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Overnight into June 18, Iran and the US remotely signed a memorandum that provides for an end to the military conflict. The memorandum also sets a timeline for the US to lift its naval blockade and for Iran to restore shipping through the Strait of Hormuz.
