Hailakandi (Assam), 25 June (HS): A frightening scene unfolded after a major portion of a bridge over the Dolu River on the Hatischara–Madhura connecting road was completely washed away, disrupting communication in the area.
According to reports, a large section of the bridge collapsed into the river following continuous erosion and strong water currents. The incident has raised serious concerns among local residents who depend on the route for daily transportation.
Not only the bridge, but a significant stretch of the newly constructed road adjoining the structure also caved into the river, highlighting the extent of the damage caused by the erosion.
Authorities are assessing the situation, while local residents have urged the administration to take immediate measures to restore connectivity and prevent further loss of infrastructure.-----------
