New Delhi, 24 June (H.S.): The award distribution ceremony for the 36th National Youth Parliament Competition (2025–26), organized for Kendriya Vidyalayas, will be held on Thursday, June 25, at the GMC Balayogi Auditorium in the Parliament House Complex. Union Minister of State for Parliamentary Affairs Arjun Ram Meghwal will preside over the ceremony and present awards to the winning students and schools.

The Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs said on Wednesday that students of Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, President's Estate, New Delhi, which secured first place at the national level, will reenact their Youth Parliament session during the event.

The Ministry has been organizing the Youth Parliament Competition in Kendriya Vidyalayas for the past 38 years. In the 36th edition of the competition held during 2025–26, 200 schools from 25 regions of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan across the country participated.

The objective of the scheme is to foster self-discipline, tolerance towards diverse viewpoints, democratic values, and an understanding of parliamentary traditions among students. Through the programme, students also gain exposure to parliamentary procedures, debating techniques, leadership skills, and effective public speaking.

Dr. Rajendra Prasad Kendriya Vidyalaya, the national-level winner, will be awarded the prestigious Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Running Parliamentary Shield along with a trophy.

Schools that emerged victorious at the zonal level will also be honoured. These include Kendriya Vidyalaya Mathura Cantt (West Zone), PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Madurai (South Zone), PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 2 Shivaji Nagar, Bhopal (Central Zone), and PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, Air Force Station Borjhar, Guwahati (East Zone).

In addition, trophies will be presented to 20 regional-winning Kendriya Vidyalayas from the regions of Jammu, Chandigarh, Gurugram, Dehradun, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, Mumbai, Ranchi, Jabalpur, Ernakulam, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Lucknow, Patna, Raipur, Varanasi, Tinsukia, Kolkata, Silchar, and Bhubaneswar.

Students, teachers, officials of the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan, and senior officers of the Ministry of Parliamentary Affairs from various regions of the country will attend the ceremony.
