Mumbai, 24 June (HS): Vikram Montrose, a resident of Civil
Lines, Prayagraj, has become a renowned music director in Bollywood. After
completing his studies at St. Joseph’s School, Prayagraj in 2005, Vikram moved
to Mumbai. For 13 years he struggled—composing for albums, scoring films, and
even working behind the scenes for others. He gave music to several films and
composed background scores for successful short film scripts, which were widely
appreciated. Then one day, a meeting with Sanjay Dutt changed his destiny.
Vikram was signed as a composer for two songs in Dutt’s boipic film Sanju. The
songs Kar Har Maidan Fateh and Baba Bolta Hai Ab Bas Ho Gaya brought him
instant recognition and fame.
After that, Vikram never looked back. He composed for Torbaaz
and Sanjay Dutt’s production Prasthanam, contributing three songs—Dil Bewda,
Charo Khane Chit, and Haji Ali Baba sung by Sukhwinder Singh. He created a
sensation again with Vidyut Jamwal’s film Commando 3, where his song Tera Baap
Aaya became a blockbuster. Another track from the same film, Irade Kar Buland
Khauf Ko Pachad De, sung by Sukhwinder Singh, also won acclaim.
Vikram was entrusted with the entire soundtrack and
background score of Mere Desh Ki Dharti. Later, in Shershah (Dharma
Productions), he composed and sang the promotional song Jai Hind Ki Sena, which
garnered 3.2 million views. For this, he received prestigious awards including
IIFA, Filmfare, and Radio Mirchi. In Akshay Kumar’s Bachchan Pandey, his song
Maar Khayega (7.1 million views) became another blockbuster. Dharma
Productions’ Liger featured his track Attack (3.6 million views), setting new
records.
His work in Akshay Kumar’s Ram Setu shook audiences
nationwide. The song Jai Shri Ram, composed and sung by Vikram, became a
massive hit with 42 million views. Vikram continued to deliver hits: Khudaya
Re, Adhira with Sanjay Dutt (2.4 million views), Mahakaal Chalo with Akshay
Kumar (13 million views), Shambhu (54 million views), Har Har Mahadev from Oh
My God (65 million views), Glass Oonchi Rakhe from Jolly LLB 3 (26 million
views), Crack with Vidyut Jamwal (7.2 million views), Jako Rakhe Saiyan from
Kill (71.6 million views), albums like Bhole Bhole (3 million views), Maa Kali
Mahakali (5.9 million views), Holi Pe Chali Goli, Sanwariya (39 million views),
Ganda Banda (1.2 million views), and even recreated Ye Desh Hai Veer Jawano Ka.
On June 26, the film Welcome to the Jungle is releasing
nationwide. Vikram has directed four songs for it, which are already trending
before release. These include two recreations—the title track Welcome to the
Jungle (21 million views) and Uncha Lamba Kad (110 million views). He also sang
Ghiss Ghiss (26 million views) himself and composed Tera Paisa Mera Paisa (1.6
million views). Vikram has directed music for numerous remarkable films. His
compositions beautifully blend the simplicity of Prayagraj’s soil with the
modernity of Mumbai. At just 36 years of age, he has achieved a stature that
many artists only dream of. His journey from Prayagraj to Mumbai is a story of
struggle, dedication, and unwavering love for music.
