Prayagraj, 24 June (HS): The City and District Yamunapar
Congress Committee held Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath responsible for the alleged theft of offerings and donations at the
Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Party workers staged a protest and demonstration at the
District Collectorate on Wednesday afternoon and expressed their anger over the
incident. Following the call given by the U P Congress, workers led by City
President Fuzail Hashmi marched to the District Magistrate's office raising
slogans such as Modi-Yogi Sharam Karo and Chanda Chor Gaddi
Chhod.
Addressing the gathering, Congress leaders alleged that the
very people who had been entrusted with the responsibility by the Prime
Minister and the Chief Minister were involved in the alleged misappropriation.
Demanding an FIR lodged against the accused, they also questioned the
functioning and monitoring system of the Temple Trust.
The Congress workers accused the Yogi government of
attempting a cover-up in the investigation and demanded a comprehensive probe
into the matter either by the CBI or under the supervision of a sitting judge
of the High Court. They also demanded that CCTV footage and other relevant
documents related to the incident be preserved and that the administration of
the temple be handed over to an administrative officer.
The speakers stated that the alleged theft of offerings and
donations at the Ram Temple, a symbol of faith for millions of Hindus across
the country, has deeply shaken public sentiments and religious faith. They
further demanded strict action against all those found guilty. District
