New Delhi, 24 June (H.S.): An Air India flight operating from Delhi to Amritsar reportedly strayed into Pakistani airspace after experiencing a technical malfunction, causing significant delays and inconvenience for passengers. The incident occurred on Monday night when Flight AI-479 deviated from its designated route before being redirected back into Indian airspace following a warning from Pakistan’s air traffic authorities.

According to official sources, no formal statement has yet been issued regarding the incident. However, sources have confirmed that the aircraft veered off its planned flight path due to a technical fault. The matter is currently under investigation.

Reports indicate that the Airbus A321 aircraft departed from Delhi at 9:07 p.m. on Monday. During the flight, a technical issue reportedly caused the aircraft to deviate from its scheduled route. The situation was brought under control in time, and the aircraft was instructed to turn back and return to Indian airspace.

Upon reaching Amritsar, the flight was unable to land because the scheduled landing window had already expired, and permission for landing could not be obtained from airport authorities. As a result, the aircraft was directed back to Delhi, where it landed safely.

Approximately two hours later, after obtaining the necessary clearance, the flight departed once again for Amritsar and eventually landed safely at the airport at around 2:30 a.m.

The incident resulted in a delay of nearly four hours for passengers. Travelers who were originally expected to arrive in Amritsar by approximately 10:30 p.m. reached their destination much later in the night, causing considerable inconvenience.

Authorities are examining the circumstances that led to the route deviation and the subsequent operational delays. No injuries or safety-related incidents involving passengers have been reported.
