
Bhubaneswar, 23 June (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday carried out simultaneous searches at seven locations across Sambalpur, Cuttack, Balasore, and Malkangiri districts as part of an investigation into the alleged possession of disproportionate assets by Sri Padmalochan Nayak, Executive Engineer of the Command Area Development Authority (CADA), Sambalpur Division.
The coordinated anti-corruption operation was launched following allegations that Nayak had amassed assets beyond his known sources of income. The searches are being conducted on the basis of warrants issued by the Hon’ble Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
A Vigilance team comprising four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), 13 Inspectors, seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting personnel has been deployed for the operation.
The searches are underway at Nayak’s rented residence in Dhanupali, Sambalpur, his office chamber in the same locality, a triple-storeyed residential building owned by him at Bidyadharpur in Cuttack, and a double-storeyed house at Mukhalis under Basta police limits in Balasore district. Vigilance officials are also conducting searches at two premises belonging to his associates in Cuttack city and at another location linked to an associate at Kalimela in Malkangiri district.
Officials said the searches are continuing and detailed information regarding the assets unearthed during the operation will be made available after completion of the investigation process.
