Pahadpur, 20 June (H.S.): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday praised President Droupadi Murmu's sustained efforts to transform her native region through education, skill development and rural welfare during his visit to Pahadpur village in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district.

Accompanied by President Murmu, the Prime Minister visited a Skill Development Centre and a school in Pahadpur, where he interacted with students and beneficiaries of various educational and vocational training programmes. He said the President's focus on empowering young people through skill development had added fresh momentum to the village's development journey.

Modi noted that it was encouraging to see local youth acquiring practical skills that would open new avenues for employment, entrepreneurship and self-reliance. He said such initiatives would help create a stronger and more capable generation while contributing to the country's long-term growth.

During his visit to the school campus, the Prime Minister paid floral tributes at the Samadhi Sthal of President Murmu's late husband, Shyam Charan Murmu, and her late sons, Lakhan Murmu and Sipun Murmu.

Reflecting on the President's personal journey, Modi said her courage and determination in overcoming profound personal tragedies had inspired millions across the country. He observed that those experiences had strengthened her resolve to dedicate herself to public service and work tirelessly for the welfare of the people.

The Prime Minister also appreciated President Murmu's efforts to improve educational infrastructure in Pahadpur. He said the initiatives undertaken under her guidance had expanded learning opportunities for children and young people, helping them build a brighter future while contributing to the overall development of the region.

The visit formed part of the Prime Minister's engagements in Odisha on Saturday, during which he highlighted the importance of education, skill development and inclusive rural growth. He described President Murmu's contribution to her native village as an inspiring example of leadership rooted in service, community welfare and nation-building.
