New Delhi, 20 June (H.S.): Birthday Greetings Pour In as Congress Honours President Murmu's Constitutional Role The Congress on Saturday extended birthday greetings to President Droupadi Murmu, commending her dedication to the Constitution, public service, and the welfare of the people. Senior party leaders wished her good health and a long life while acknowledging her role as the nation's constitutional head.

Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi conveyed his wishes through a message on social media, extending birthday greetings to the President and praying for her continued good health and longevity.

The Congress, in its official message, said President Murmu's steadfast commitment to constitutional values, democratic principles, and public service continues to inspire the nation. The party also appreciated her efforts to uphold the dignity of the office of the President while serving the interests of every citizen.

President Murmu, who turned 68 on Saturday, received greetings from leaders across the political spectrum, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union ministers, chief ministers, governors, and several other public figures. Messages highlighted her contribution to public life, her dedication to inclusive development, and her commitment to the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.

Born on June 20, 1958, in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district, President Murmu became the 15th President of India in July 2022. She is the first tribal woman and the youngest person to hold the country's highest constitutional office. Before assuming the presidency, she served as the Governor of Jharkhand and was actively involved in public life in Odisha.
