Chandigarh, 02 June (H.S.): The Building Branch of the Chandigarh Administration on
Tuesday morning sealed Sago Club, a popular nightlife venue associated with
rapper Badshah, located in Sector 26. The club management allegedly failed to
comply with repeated notices regarding violations of building regulations.
According to officials, the club had been served multiple notices directing
it to rectify deficiencies and remove unauthorized constructions that were
reportedly carried out beyond the approved building plan. However, despite
being given sufficient time, the management failed to take corrective measures,
prompting the administration to proceed with the sealing action.
A team from the Building Branch, accompanied by police personnel, reached
the premises and carried out the operation. Authorities stated that the matter
had been under review for a long time due to alleged violations related to the
sanctioned building layout.
The club has previously been in the spotlight following explosions reported
outside two Sector-26 clubs nearly two years ago. Responsibility for the blasts
was allegedly claimed through social media posts attributed to gangsters Goldy
Brar and Rohit Godara. The incident had reportedly been linked to demands for
protection money.
Officials maintained that the latest action is purely related to building
bylaw violations and unauthorized construction. Further proceedings in the
matter will be carried out as per the rules and regulations of the Chandigarh
Administration.
