
Imphal, 16 June (HS): Manipur Police and security forces arrested 10 insurgents and five drug traffickers during a series of operations conducted across the state over the last four days. Large quantities of arms, ammunition and narcotic substances were also recovered.
According to the Police Headquarters today, the seizures included INSAS and SLR rifles, pistols, ammunition, magazines, suspected opium weighing over 15 kg and consignments of suspected brown sugar. Several active cadres linked to different insurgent groups, including RPF/PLA, KCP, UNLF(P), URF and NRFM, were apprehended from various districts.
Security forces also intercepted a vehicle allegedly carrying military insignia and recovered 17 packets of suspected opium. Investigations into the case and the recovered materials are underway, officials said.------------
