Hyderabad, June 16 (HS): Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy is scheduled to inaugurate ‘Donald Trump Avenue’ near the US Consulate in Hyderabad on June 23, according to media reports.

The event is expected to be attended by US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor.

According to the report, the proposal to name the road after US President Donald Trump was made by the Chief Minister last year as part of efforts to recognise global leaders and institutions that have contributed to Hyderabad's growth as a major technology and investment destination.

The inauguration is expected to be held ahead of the United States Independence Day celebrations on July 4.

The report said the Telangana government has also explored the idea of naming roads after major global technology companies in recognition of their contribution to Hyderabad's emergence as a leading information technology hub.

Hyderabad has witnessed significant investment from several American companies in recent years, particularly in the areas of information technology, Global Capability Centres (GCCs), healthcare and financial services.
