Guwahati, 13 June (HS): BJP Assam Pradesh spokesperson Manas Sarania on Friday said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India has witnessed remarkable progress in road, rail and aviation infrastructure over the past 12 years.

He said the National Highway network has expanded from 91,287 km in 2014 to over 1.46 lakh km, while more than 99.6% of the Broad Gauge railway network has been electrified. Over 164 Vande Bharat trains are now operating across the country and more than 1,337 railway stations are being upgraded under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.

Sarania also highlighted the rapid growth of the aviation sector, stating that the number of airports has increased to more than 164, making India the world's third-largest domestic aviation market.

Referring to Assam, he said several major infrastructure projects, including the Brahmaputra tunnel, Shillong-Silchar Corridor and Kaziranga Elevated Corridor, are set to strengthen connectivity and accelerate development in the state.-----------
