
Mumbai, 10 June (HS): Maharashtra Chief Minister
Devendra Fadnavis said there is no comparison between the first Prime Minister
Pt Jawaharlal Nehru and present Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The issue is
related only to longest serving Prime Minister, Nahru’s 4398 days and Modi’s
4399 days.
Fadnavis was replying to Sharad Pawar’s statement
that there is no comparison between Jawahrar Nehru and Narendra Modi, during
the 27th Foundation Day celebrations of Nationalist Congress Party.
Fadnavis said that Pt Nehru’s work is during his
tenure is known to people, Modi’s work during the more than a decade is also
before the people. Modi will continue to remain in the position for many more
years, he added.
Fadnavis said that his party has condemned atrocities
against Sikh community during Congress regime and will continue condemning it
in the future. Appreciating Prime Minister Modi’s approach Fadnavis said
special funds were made available to Maharashtra during 2015 drought. The
Centre also helped in completing the irrigation projects in Vidarbha and
Marathwada regions. Modi is a sensitive and dedicated leader for welfare of
masses.
For the last ten years Rahul Gandhi during meeting
of Congress has been claiming that Modi government will not last for one year.
On the contrary Modi has achieving more and more support and political success.
Such claims by Rahul Gandhi should not be taken seriously, he added.
