Bhubaneswar, 07 May (H.S.) : Biju Janata Dal (BJD) president Naveen Patnaik on Thursday issued a strong warning against indiscipline within the party while addressing the Jajpur district executive meeting ahead of the upcoming panchayat and municipal elections in Odisha.

Emphasising the importance of organisational discipline, Patnaik stated that any form of misconduct or indiscipline within the party would not be tolerated. He called upon party leaders and workers to work collectively to strengthen the organisation and maintain close contact with the people at the grassroots level.

“I have always emphasised discipline. Therefore, indiscipline in the party can never be tolerated. Panchayat and urban elections are approaching, and we must work together to strengthen the organisation and stay connected with the people,” Naveen said while addressing party functionaries.

The BJD chief’s remarks are being viewed as significant in the context of the party’s preparations for the forthcoming local body elections in the state. He urged party leaders to maintain coordination and organisational unity while intensifying outreach activities across various regions.

According to party sources, the meeting primarily focused on strengthening the organisational network in Jajpur district and preparing party workers for the upcoming electoral challenges. Discussions were also held on strategies to reinforce the party’s grassroots presence and improve coordination among local leaders and workers.

Senior party leaders, district-level office-bearers and workers attended the executive meeting.
