Three Killed, 14 Injured in Pakistani Attacks on Afghanistan's Kunar

Kabul, 04 May (H.S.): Fresh attacks from Pakistan in Afghanistan's Kunar province have resulted in three deaths and 14 injuries, targeting civilian areas in Dangam district.

Local officials reported that the strikes damaged two schools, one clinic, and two mosques. Taliban Governor of Dangam district, Mohammad Umar Sadiq, accused Pakistan of lacking capacity for direct military action and thus targeting civilian infrastructure. He also noted that around 80 livestock were killed in the attacks.

Authorities claim several educational institutions have been affected in Kunar province since recent incidents. Previous attacks in the region have caused multiple casualties, creating an atmosphere of fear among the local population.

Meanwhile, Afghanistan's Foreign Ministry recently summoned the chargé d'affaires at the Pakistani embassy in Kabul to register a strong protest. The ministry accused Pakistan of violating Afghan airspace and targeting civilians, terming it a violation of international law.

The Afghan government has clearly stated it reserves the right to take necessary measures to protect its sovereignty and citizens' safety. It appealed to Pakistan to refrain from such actions, warning of serious consequences from such incidents.

Notably, tensions between Afghanistan and Pakistan have been escalating for several months. Both nations continue to accuse each other of fomenting instability, while diplomatic efforts have so far failed to de-escalate the situation.
