
ISLAMABAD, May 31 (H.S.): Eight people were killed and five others injured in separate road accidents reported in Pakistan’s federal capital, Islamabad, and the provincial capital of Sindh, Karachi, during the past 24 hours.
According to a report by *Dunya News*, four people lost their lives and five others sustained serious injuries in a traffic accident at Athal Chowk in the Bhara Kahu area of Islamabad on Saturday. Police said a speeding car rammed into two vehicles and several motorcycles, resulting in the deaths of four people at the scene and injuries to five others.
The injured were reported to be in critical condition. Police added that the accused driver abandoned the vehicle and fled the scene following the accident.
According to Sindh Police, four more people were killed in four separate traffic accidents that occurred in different areas of Karachi within a span of a few hours on Saturday.
The first accident took place in Sohrab Goth, where a motorcyclist was killed after his motorcycle skidded on the road.
In the second incident, a speeding car struck a motorcyclist in Baldia Raees, resulting in his death. The driver fled the scene after the collision.
The third accident occurred in Malir, where a car ran over a teenager. The driver escaped immediately after the incident.
In another accident at Korangi Crossing, a man was killed after being hit by a tanker.
Officials said that 415 people have lost their lives in traffic accidents in Sindh province alone so far this year.
