
Kolkata, 31 May (H.S.): The family of Praveen Kumar Thakur, a resident of the Bhabanipur Assembly constituency who lost his life during the severe storm and natural calamity that struck on May 29, received financial assistance from the West Bengal government.
Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari on Sunday handed over a compensation cheque to the bereaved family on behalf of the state government. Expressing his condolences, the Chief Minister said that the government stands firmly with the family during this difficult time.
It may be recalled that strong winds, thunderstorms, and adverse weather conditions affected several parts of the state on May 29, disrupting normal life. Praveen Kumar Thakur tragically lost his life during the natural disaster.
While offering his sympathies to the family, the Chief Minister assured them that the state government remains committed to providing all possible assistance to those affected by natural calamities. He said that the government is taking necessary measures for the relief, rehabilitation, and support of affected families across the state.
After receiving the compensation cheque, members of the deceased's family expressed their gratitude to the state government and the Chief Minister for extending support during their time of grief.
