25 May (HS): Kapil Dev Agarwal, Minister of State (Independent Charge) for
Vocational Education, Skill Development, and Entrepreneurship, held a meeting
with the members of the Training and Employment Standing Committee on Monday in
his office, Room No. 58, located in the Assembly. The meeting featured
extensive discussions on various aspects of skill development and training, and
members offered their suggestions.
Minister
Agarwal provided information on the number, admissions, and training status of
government and private Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in the state.
Currently, approximately 1.29 lakh youth are enrolled in government ITIs and
2.77 lakh in private ITIs. He stated that special emphasis is being placed on
strengthening training in new age skills such as robotics, CNC
machining, electric vehicles, computers, and other technical fields, in line with
current global and industrial demand.
He
informed that due to the efforts of the Yogi government, under the agreement
with Tata Technologies, 150 ITI institutes of the state are being equipped with
state-of-the-art machines and technical resources, so that quality training as
per the industries can be made available to the youth. He informed that under
the Skill Development Mission, a provision of Rs 1000 crore has been made for
the State Skill Development Fund (SSDF), which is being used to provide employment-oriented
training to the youth. Through “Project Praveen”, inter-college level students
are being linked with technical skills along with general education.
Minister
Agarwal stated that five Centers of Innovation, Integration and
Innovation (C-III) are being established in the state, which will develop
into Centers of Excellence in the future and become centers for advanced
technical training. Furthermore, the process of connecting trained youth with
industries through employment fairs is being made more effective. He stated
that skill mapping and surveys are being prioritized at the district level to
make training programs more relevant to the demands of local industries.
Additionally, efforts are being made to enhance the skills of traditionally and
informally skilled individuals by training them and encouraging them towards
entrepreneurship.
He
said that the aim of the Yogi government is to make every youth of the state
skilled and make him self-reliant, capable and competitive, so that the economy
of the state can get new strength.

Veer Vikram Singh 'Prince' (MLA, Shahjahanpur), Mukta Sanjeev Raja (MLA,
Aligarh), Dr. M.P. Arya (MLA, Bareilly), Om Kumar (MLA, Bijnor), Jai Devi (MLA,
Lucknow), Kailash Nath (MLA, Balrampur), Dr. R.K. Verma (MLA, Pratapgarh) and
Ashok Kumar (MLA, Rae Bareli) and Principal Secretary Dr. Hari Om, Special
Secretary Abhishek Singh, Mission Director Pulkit Khare and other departmental
officers were present in the meeting.
