
New Delhi, 23 May (H.S.): U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio arrived in Kolkata on Saturday morning, marking the start of his four‑day visit to India from May 23 to May 26. His trip is being described as significant for India–United States relations.
Marco Rubio arrived in Kolkata this morning, where after attending a programme, he will travel to New Delhi to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
U.S. Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti shared details of Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s arrival in Kolkata on an X post. During this visit, Rubio will also travel to New Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur.
Rubio is in India for his first official visit to the country, to attend the Quad Foreign Ministers’ meeting scheduled in New Delhi on May 26 alongside Australian Foreign Minister Penny Wong and Japanese Foreign Minister Toshimitsu Motegi. India will host the Quad nations’ foreign ministers to strengthen strategic cooperation in the Indo‑Pacific region on May 26.
