Lucknow/
Prayagraj, 20 May (HS): Following the judgment delivered on 15 May 2026 by the
Indore Bench of the Madhya Pradesh High Court in the disputed Bhojshala–Kamal
Maula Mosque complex located in Dhar, Madhya Pradesh, the All India Pasmanda
Muslim Mahaz has appealed to the Pasmanda Muslim community to maintain peace,
restraint, and to follow the legal route. The organization clearly stated that
if any party has objections to a judicial verdict, it should be challenged
through constitutional and legal means in the Supreme Court. Creating a tense
atmosphere is neither in the interest of the nation nor society. The
organization also advised distancing from unnecessary political rhetoric being
made by certain Ashraf organizations, clerics, and political leaders.
Mohammad
Yunus, Chief Executive Officer, All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz, stated: “Pasmanda
Muslim society should not panic or feel any tension regarding this issue. We
appeal to all our Pasmanda Muslim brothers and sisters to exercise restraint,
patience, and wisdom on sensitive matters such as mosque-temple disputes. We
welcome open, fair, and constitutional dialogue so that a permanent solution
can be reached in the national interest with mutual understanding of all
parties.”
Yunus
further added, “A list of all disputed temple-mosque and shrine sites in the
country should be prepared, and responsible representatives from both sides
should jointly resolve these matters through mutual consent in the national
interest. It is not appropriate to keep the country continuously entangled in
such disputes.”
National
President of the organization, Parvez Hanif, recalled that according to the
official Gazette of the Dhar princely state dated 24 August 1935, the entire
complex was declared as the “Kamal Maula Mosque” and permission was granted to
the Muslim community to offer prayers. This decision was made during the rule
of the Pawar dynasty. The Muslim side argues that in Indian Islamic
architecture, the use of motifs such as lotus and kalash was common, and in the
Sufi-Mughal tradition, shared cultural elements were widely adopted.
The
organization stated that it is not appropriate to keep the public continuously
engaged in temple-mosque disputes. Ordinary citizens today seek serious
discussions on real issues such as education, employment, healthcare,
inflation, and social justice.
On
the auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, the All India Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz
made a special appeal that the Pasmanda Muslim community should observe
sacrifice and Eid celebrations with full peace, restraint, and responsibility,
and strengthen the spirit of brotherhood, constitutional values, and respect
for law in the country. The organization urged all citizens to avoid rumors of
any kind and maintain social harmony.
