
Agra, 02 May (HS): A 13-year-old boy was killed in a village in Uttar Pradesh’s Agra district, with police detaining two persons in connection with the incident, officials said on Saturday. The incident has led to tension in the area, prompting deployment of additional police forces.
According to police, the incident occurred on Friday in Soni Kheda village under the jurisdiction of Basai Jagner police station. The boy, identified as Amrit Kushwaha, was allegedly attacked in an agricultural field and sustained fatal injuries.
Preliminary information suggests that the accused were associated with the victim’s family in agricultural work on leased land. A dispute reportedly arose when the boy had gone to the field, following which he was assaulted.
The body was later found by the victim’s sister when she went searching for him. It has been sent for post-mortem examination.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Aditya said two persons, identified as Riazuddin and Shirazuddin, were detained on Friday night in connection with the case. A complaint filed by the boy’s father has named multiple individuals, and a case has been registered.
Following the incident, local residents staged a protest and briefly blocked the road. Police said the situation was later brought under control.
Security personnel from multiple police stations have been deployed in the village as a precautionary measure, and further investigation is underway.
