New Delhi, 02 May (H.S.): The Saket court in Delhi on Saturday dismissed the bail application of Javed Ahmed Siddiqui, founder of Al Falah University, in the case linked to the Red Fort blast. Additional Sessions Judge Sheetal Chaudhary Pradhan passed the order rejecting the bail plea.

The court had reserved its order on April 30. It had earlier issued a notice to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on April 6. The ED had arrested Javed Ahmed Siddiqui on November 18, 2025.

The Faridabad‑based Al Falah University had been under the scanner of investigative agencies since the blast near the Red Fort. The probe agencies had found that three doctors arrested in the Red Fort blast case were linked to Al Falah University, after which a formal investigation was launched against the institution. The ED had arrested Siddiqui in connection with alleged terror financing and money laundering.

The ED had filed a chargesheet against Javed Ahmed Siddiqui and the Al Falah Charitable Trust on January 16. The ED’s investigation in the matter had begun after the Crime Branch of Delhi Police registered two FIRs. The FIRs alleged that Al Falah University had given false information that it had been granted recognition by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

The ED has stated that it has informally seized the properties of Al Falah University under the provisions of the money laundering law.

A blast had occurred in an i20 car near the Red Fort on November 10. The vehicle was registered in the name of Amir Rashid Ali. Thirteen people were killed and 32 others were injured in the explosion. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had lodged a complaint against Al Falah University, following which the Crime Branch of Delhi Police arrested Javed Ahmed Siddiqui. Subsequently, the Crime Branch had registered two FIRs against Siddiqui and arrested him in connection with the allegations.
