New Delhi, 02 May (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has sharply criticized Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor Arvind Kejriwal for allegedly orchestrating vendetta politics following Punjab Police's registration of two FIRs against Rajya Sabha MP Sandeep Pathak, who defected from AAP to BJP recently.

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla condemned the move on X, asserting that Kejriwal is weaponizing Punjab Police under Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann to exact political revenge. He highlighted the timing—mere days after Pathak's switch—as evidence of brazen retaliation against dissenters.

Punjab BJP chief Sunil Jakhar echoed this, decrying AAP's dual character and warning of Punjab morphing into a police state where defection triggers non-bailable corruption charges.

The FIRs, involving non-bailable offenses like corruption and exploitation, signal escalating intra-party rift post-Pathak's exit from AAP's organizational general secretary role. Opposition figures frame this as AAP stifling opposition voices through state machinery, amid broader accusations of mutual vendetta in Punjab's charged political landscape.
