
New Delhi, May 19 (H.S.): The Supreme Court Collegium has recommended the names of nine judicial officers and ten advocates for appointment as judges of the Madras High Court. The recommendations were made during the Collegium meeting held on May 18.
The nine judicial officers recommended for elevation as judges of the Madras High Court are Dr. P. Murugan, M.D. Sumathi, S. Ali, C. Thirumagal Chandrasekhar, Dharmalingam Lingeshwaran, Karthikeyan Palathanadayutham, Shanmugam Karthikeyan, Baluchamy Murugesan and N. Gunasekaran.
The ten advocates whose names have been recommended for appointment as judges of the Madras High Court are Natarajan Ramesh, G.K. Muthukumar, Ramakrishnan Rajesh Vivekanandan, Sankaranarayanan Ravikumar, Nagarjun Dilip Kumar, Elappan Manoharan, Krishnaswamy Govindarajan, Rajneesh Pathiyil, K. Appadurai and Ramasamy Anita.
In addition, the Collegium has also recommended the appointment of six additional judges of the Bombay High Court as permanent judges.
The Collegium recommended the elevation of Justice Nivedita Prakash Mehta, Justice Praful Surendrakumar Khubalkar, Justice Ashwin Damodar Bhobe, Justice Rohit Vasudev Joshi, Justice Advait Mahendra Sethna and Justice Pravish Sheshrao Patil as permanent judges of the Bombay High Court.
