Lucknow, 01 May
(HS): BSP supremo Mayawati extended her greetings to the working community on
Labour Day. She stated that the expected improvement in the conditions of male
and female labourers and the working class across the country has not yet been
observed. In such a situation, the importance of Labor Day cannot be denied.
The BSP supremo stated that Baba Saheb, recognizing the contribution of
laborers and working people in nation-building, had strived to guarantee a
happy and prosperous life for all of them.
However, due to
outsourcing, daily wage employment, and the practice of hire and fire, they are
facing a period of employment uncertainty. This is adversely affecting not only
the livelihood of their families but also their education and health. She
stated that in the pursuit of development, not only the future of laborers but
also the lives of their families is at stake. The lack of a safe environment
for women is also a matter of concern. Mayawati demanded that the working class
be ensured its proper participation in the country's development. The BSP's
struggle is, and will remain, dedicated to the rights of these hardworking
Bahujans.
