Lucknow, 01 May
(HS): Akhilesh Yadav, president of the Samajwadi Party, criticized the BJP on
Friday for sharply raising the price of commercial cylinders, claiming it will
make food more costly for ordinary people. Commercial LPG prices rose by the
sharpest ever Rs 993 per 19-kg cylinder on Friday, marking the third
consecutive monthly rise owing to rising global energy prices connected to the
West Asia war. 19-kg commercial LPG, which is used by facilities like as hotels
and restaurants, now costs a record Rs 3,071.5 in Delhi, up from Rs 2,078.50
earlier. However, domestic LPG pricing remain constant. Cylinders do not get
pricey; the roti-thali does. This is only known by those who buy and consume it
themselves, not by those who go and dine at other people's tables or steal from
other people's plates, according to Yadav.
If they had to make the cylinder pricey, they
should have done so for Rs 1,000. Who are these BJP folks doing a favor
to by not raising the price by Rs 1,000 but only Rs 7 short of it, the former
CM asked sarcastically. The Lok Sabha MP also inquired as to when the BJP will
introduce a censure resolution on inflation, unemployment, joblessness,
and recession.
His jab at the BJP referenced both Houses of the Uttar Pradesh legislature
voting a censure vote against the Samajwadi Party, Congress, and other INDIA
bloc parties on Thursday for their stand on the women's reservation bill in Lok
Sabha.
