New Delhi, 01 May (H.S.): Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva has demanded that the Aam Aadmi Party take immediate disciplinary action against Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing him of attending Assembly proceedings after consuming alcohol.
In a statement issued on Friday, Sachdeva said that the way Punjab Chief Minister Mann staggered into the Assembly and spoke with a slurred tongue had raised serious questions, including over why the Speaker did not intervene. He said Mann’s conduct had embarrassed democracy.
He added that Mann’s behaviour in the House clearly showed his frustration and indicated that he no longer had confidence in the stability of the Punjab government.
Sachdeva further claimed that this was not the first time Mann had appeared in public under the influence of alcohol, alleging that he had earlier reached the Lok Sabha in an inebriated state as well.
Sachdeva said that the people of Punjab, Delhi and the country were shocked by Bhagwant Mann’s conduct and wanted AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal to take immediate action against him.
