New Delhi, 09 April (H.S.):

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, Home Minister Amit Shah, and several other leaders honored the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) on its Martyrs’ Day (Shaurya Diwas) on Thursday, saluting the force's fallen heroes who embody courage against terrorism, Naxalism, internal threats, and natural disasters.

In a post on X, Birla extended greetings to CRPF's valiant officers and jawans. “With indomitable bravery and unwavering resolve, you stand guard in every arduous scenario—from terrorism and Naxalism to internal security challenges and calamities. Your role in preserving India's unity and integrity, never wavering from duty even in remote terrains, is invaluable,” he wrote.

Amit Shah commemorated the 1965 stand at Sardar Post in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, where CRPF warriors repelled a Pakistani assault like an impregnable fortress. “On this day, they scripted a glorious chapter in India's history by thwarting the enemy. Homage to the martyrs who laid down their lives for the nation's honor and security,” Shah stated.

Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra praised the force's 85-year legacy.

“Your heroism, valor, selfless service, and sacrifices have fortified the country. The nation remains eternally indebted.”

Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi recalled the Sardar Post victory over a large Pakistani contingent in Kutch.

Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan lauded their dedication: “Your commitment to safeguarding the nation and its people is exemplary. Pride swells for Mother India's brave sons. Salutations to your service spirit.”

Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Dr. Virendra Kumar bowed to CRPF martyrs who attained martyrdom for national security. Minister of State for Law and Justice (Independent Charge) Arjun Ram Meghwal affirmed: “The jawans' courage, sacrifice, and devotion form the bedrock of our security. Countless salutes to their valor.”

Observed annually on April 9 since 1965, Shaurya Diwas honors CRPF's Rann of Kutch triumph, where 32 personnel held off superior forces, reinforcing the force's motto: One Foremost in the Service of the Nation.
