Udalguri (Assam), 08 April (HS): In a significant political development just 24 hours before the scheduled polling, Congress candidate Suren Daimary has withdrawn his nomination from the Udalguri constituency, dealing a major setback to the party.
According to reports, Daimary not only pulled out of the electoral contest but also announced his resignation from the Congress party, intensifying the political stir in the region on the eve of voting.
In a strong statement following his decision, Daimary criticized the party, alleging that the Congress acts as a “protector of Miya community,” and termed the party as “traitorous” and “deceptive.”
The sudden move has created ripples in the local political landscape, with parties and observers closely watching its potential impact on the upcoming polls.-----------
