Rampur,
April 8 (HS): Two suspicious young men have been apprehended after they entered
a Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) camp in Rampur district, Uttar Pradesh.
Security personnel have handed them over to the police. They had entered the
camp without permission. Police are now questioning the two men about their
reason for entering the camp premises.
Saurabh
Rajput, a CRPF deputy commandant, stated in a written complaint filed with the
Civil Lines police station on Wednesday that security personnel deployed to
guard the camp stopped the young men for questioning on suspicion. However, the
young men were unable to provide a valid reason for their presence. They also
attempted to mislead the security personnel. Subsequently, the two suspects
were handed over to the police.
Civil
Lines Police Station in-charge Omkar Singh said that during rigorous
interrogation, it was revealed that one of the arrested suspects was Naeem from
Patwai village and the other was Bhura, a resident of Ghosipura village. Based
on a complaint received from the CRPF administration, a case has been
registered against both of them and an investigation has been initiated.
It
is noteworthy that on the night of December 31, 2007, terrorists attacked a
CRPF Group Centre. Seven CRPF personnel were martyred in that incident, and a
rickshaw driver also lost his life.
