Chandigarh, 07 April (H.S.):

Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Tuesday said that the people of West Bengal are eager to form a government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing a visible “BJP wave” across the state. Speaking to reporters after filing his nomination for the Sreerampur Assembly constituency during his visit to West Bengal, Saini said the public sentiment clearly reflects a desire for political change. He also held a roadshow in support of the BJP candidate in Sreerampur, urging voters to support the party.

Congratulating the party candidate, Saini alleged that the people of Bengal have faced prolonged exploitation first under the Communist regime and now under the government led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He claimed that while people had high expectations from the current government, it has failed to deliver and has instead led to increased hardships.

The Chief Minister pointed out issues such as unemployment, lack of fair prices for farmers, and alleged deterioration in law and order. He also raised concerns about women’s safety in the state, stating that despite having a woman chief minister, women do not feel secure.

Saini further accused the state government of protecting infiltrators, which he said has adversely impacted Bengal’s economic, cultural, and social fabric. He also alleged widespread corruption, claiming that despite projecting simplicity, the current regime is embroiled in major scams.

Highlighting the achievements of the central government, Saini said that policies under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership have uplifted millions of people. He noted that around 250 million people have been lifted out of poverty and that welfare schemes like Ayushman Bharat and Kisan Samman Nidhi have significantly benefited citizens across the country.

However, he alleged that such schemes have not been properly implemented in West Bengal due to political reasons, resulting in continued poverty and underdevelopment. He said that this has further strengthened public resolve to bring about a political shift in the state.

Referring to the enthusiastic participation in the roadshow, Saini said it reflects the people’s aspiration for development and change. He also highlighted issues such as industrial decline and migration of youth from Bengal in search of employment.

Emphasizing the central government’s welfare initiatives, he said schemes like the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and free ration distribution to 80 crore people demonstrate the BJP’s commitment to inclusive growth.

Saini concluded by stating that the people of Bengal are determined to contribute to building a “Viksit Bharat” and a “Viksit Bengal,” and that they seek trust, dignity, and development something he believes is possible only under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership.
