Guwahati, 03 April (HS): AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi on Friday intensified his election campaign in Assam in support of the All India United Democratic Front, calling upon the ‘Miya’ community to unite and vote decisively against the BJP in the upcoming assembly elections.

Addressing election campaign rallies, Owaisi raised slogans of “Miya Zindabad” and asserted that the community must ensure the defeat of the BJP this time by consolidating votes in favour of AIUDF. He remarked that the existence and identity of the ‘Miya’ community would endure, emphasizing their socio-political significance in the state.

The AIMIM chief also urged voters to respond strongly against alleged eviction drives carried out by the BJP government, asking them to “lock their answer in the ballot” by voting for AIUDF on April 9. He accused the ruling party of targeting poor minorities through eviction measures.

Launching a sharp attack on the Congress, Owaisi claimed that the party failed to stand against the eviction of poor ‘Miya’ families and said that supporting Congress would not benefit the community.

He further asserted that AIUDF is the only party consistently fighting for the protection, rights and dignity of the ‘Miya’ community in Assam, urging voters to back the party to safeguard their future.----------
