West Bengal, 03 April (H.S.): In connection with the violent incident in Kaliachak, West Bengal, police have submitted a detailed report to the court, revealing several shocking findings. According to the report, the incident was not spontaneous but a pre-planned attack targeting judicial officers, police personnel, and central forces.

The report, filed on Friday by Mothabari Police Station, states that the attack took place when the judges’ convoy was leaving the BDO office. The assailants allegedly set up barricades to stop the convoy and began pelting stones. Not only the judges’ vehicles, but those of the police and central paramilitary forces were also targeted.

As per the report, when central force personnel reached the spot to carry out rescue operations, they too came under attack. Vehicles of the CRPF were vandalized, with their windows smashed during the stone-pelting. One driver sustained injuries, while a CRPF sub-inspector and another personnel were also injured. In total, two to three central force personnel were reported injured.

Police have further claimed that the crowd had been mobilized in advance. On the evening of April 1, around 100 unidentified individuals gathered outside the BDO office and carried out the coordinated attack. The road was blocked, and continuous stone-pelting created chaos in the area.

The incident has raised serious questions, particularly regarding how such a large group of unidentified individuals assembled and executed the attack despite the presence of central forces in the state ahead of the elections.

The developments have put the spotlight on the law and order situation in the state, raising concerns about security arrangements during the ongoing election period.
