April (HS): A 40-year-old man died from asphyxia after a fire broke out in a
residence here, allegedly caused by a gas cylinder leak, authorities said on
Friday. They said that the incident occurred late Thursday night in Lodhi Wali
Gali. According to preliminary investigations, there was a leak from a
residential LPG cylinder, and the fire started when a matchstick was lighted. After
receiving information, fire and police crews hurried to the scene and took
control of the situation.
However,
at that time, the victim identified as Yogesh had died from asphyxia and had
sustained partial burn injuries, according to authorities. Ayush Vikram Singh,
City Superintendent of Police, stated that a case has been filed based on the
deceased's brother's complaint, and the body has been submitted for postmortem
examination. Further investigation is being conducted in collaboration with the
fire department to determine the actual cause of the occurrence.
