Lucknow, April 29 (HS): Yogi
Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh chief minister, will raise the holy 'Dharma
Dhwaj' (flag) atop the Shiva Temple within the Ayodhya Ram Janmabhoomi Temple
complex. He praised it as a symbol of religion, self-esteem, and cultural
awareness. This comes after PM Modi raised the main flag atop the 191-foot-high
Ram Mandir shikhar in November 2025.
CM Yogi defined the flag as a statement of humanity's essence, a triumph for
truth, and a resurgence of Sanatan culture. Dharma Dhwaj is a 22x11-foot
saffron flag that represents Dharma, truth, and justice and is built to endure
strong winds.
Yogi Adityanath said the flag depicts New India, where history and
development coexist.
He advised people to consider this as the beginning of a new period rather than
the end, emphasizing the restoration of righteousness. The celebration
emphasized Ayodhya's growing cultural and religious progress under his
guidance.
In a post on X, UP CM mentioned, “Jai Shri Ram! Today, the sacred ritual of
hoisting the Dharma flag will be performed on the summit of the iconic Shiva
temple in the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi temple complex in Shri Ayodhya Dham, the
beloved city of Maryada Purushottam Lord Shri Ram. This flag hoisting, a
powerful symbol of eternal faith, self-confidence, and cultural consciousness,
binds our heritage, faith, and resolve together. Har Har Mahadev.”
