
Dibrugarh (Assam), 27 April (HS): A devastating fire broke out at the Oil Market area in Duliajan on Sunday night, gutting several business establishments and triggering panic among traders and customers present at the site.
According to initial reports, the fire is suspected to have originated from a grocery shop owned by one Abu Bakkar Siddique. Within a short span, the flames spread rapidly to nearby shops, causing extensive damage to multiple commercial units.
The sudden blaze created a chaotic situation in the market, with shopkeepers and customers seen rushing to safety amid thick smoke and rising flames.
Several fire tenders of Oil India Limited rushed to the spot and launched firefighting operations. Owing to their prompt response and sustained efforts, the fire was eventually brought under control.
No casualties have been reported so far, although the extent of property damage is believed to be significant. Further investigation into the exact cause of the fire is underway.-----------
