Jammu, 27 April (H.S.): A Crime-Cum-Security Review Meeting was convened today at the Range Police Headquarters, Udhampur, under the chairmanship of Bhim Sen Tuti IPS, Inspector General of Police, Jammu Zone with DIG, Udhampur–Reasi Range, SSP Udhampur and other Supervisory Officers of District Udhampur.

The meeting focused on quality investigation especially special reported cases. Also, a a detailed review of key policing and security matters, including the implementation and progress of the Nasha Mukht Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyaan, functioning of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS), overall crime scenario and the prevailing security situation in the district.

While reviewing investigation practices, the IGP emphasized the critical importance of maintaining professional excellence. He directed the supervisory officers especially SDPOs to personally visit the scene of crime and ensure that investigations are conducted in a thorough, impartial and time-bound manner, underscoring that high-quality investigations are essential for strengthening the justice delivery system and building public trust.

The DIG Udhampur Reasi Range stressed the need for robust supervision, accountability at all levels and effective coordination among field units to address emerging challenges efficiently. Officers were encouraged to adopt proactive strategies and leverage technology driven systems like ERSS to improve response mechanisms and public service delivery.

The meeting concluded with a reaffirmation of commitment towards maintaining law and order, ensuring public safety and upholding the highest standards of policing across the Jammu Zone.
