Varanasi,
April 27 (HS): Security
arrangements have been tightened in Varanasi for Prime Minister Narendra Modi's
proposed two-day visit. Given the sensitivity of the event, the police and district
administration have taken extensive precautionary measures to ensure a peaceful
and safe conduct of the event. A prohibitory order has been imposed in the
district to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward activity. This
order, issued under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code (BNSS), will
remain in effect until May 18. During this period, strict restrictions will
remain in place on activities affecting public safety.
In
view of the Prime Minister's arrival, a complete ban has been imposed on the
operation of drones and other flying objects without permission in the Varanasi
Commissionerate area until April 29. The prohibited items include drones,
kites, balloons of any kind, remote-controlled microlights, aircraft, and
paragliders. This information was clarified in orders issued by the Police
Commissionerate on Monday. It has been stated that strict legal action will be
taken against those violating these orders. The Varanasi Commissionerate has
appealed to citizens to follow these instructions and cooperate in maintaining
security. Furthermore, the public has been urged to immediately report any
suspicious activity, object, or person to the nearest police station, dial 112,
or the police control room so that necessary action can be taken in a timely
manner.
