Hooghly, 26 April (H.S.): A political rally was held on Sunday evening at Jora Mandir ground in Champdani in support of Trinamool Congress candidate Arindam Guin, where Bihar’s former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav addressed the gathering and launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party.
During his speech, Yadav appealed to voters to support Arindam Guin in the April 29 polls and strengthen the leadership of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. He described the election as a broader ideological battle rather than just a constituency-level contest.
Tejashwi Yadav accused the BJP of practicing divisive politics, alleging that the party thrives on creating rifts within society. He said that instead of focusing on governance, employment, education, and healthcare, the BJP promotes hatred and communal tensions.
He further alleged that the central government is using investigative agencies to weaken opposition parties. “All efforts have been made to dislodge a woman Chief Minister from power, but they have not succeeded,” he said.
The rally witnessed a significant turnout of Trinamool Congress supporters, reflecting the intensifying political atmosphere in the region ahead of the elections.
