Pune, 22 Apr (HS): Maharashtra Government is

planning to frame law and establish IT Study Cell to resolve issues relating to

exploitation of employees, mostly freshers, in the IT industry in the name of ‘Lay

Off’.

Jagtap held discussion with Labour Minister Aksah Fundkar. Chief Secretary

(Labour) I A Kundan, Labour Commissioner Dr H P Tummod, and other officers in

Labour Department, representatives of Forum for IT Employees attended the

meeting.

The proposed IT Study Cell will study the issues

related to employees of IT Industry, work out their security in service under

the Industrial Disputes Act and unlawful use of Lay Off.

Fundkar assured that the issues will be discussed

with the Chief Minister. Discussion about forming an IT Tribunal was also held.
