London, 21 April (H.S.):
Australia's veteran fast bowler Peter Siddle has withdrawn from this year's Vitality Blast T20 tournament citing personal reasons, delivering a significant setback to Nottinghamshire. The 41-year-old was set to return to Trent Bridge for the entire summer competition.
Siddle previously represented Nottinghamshire in 2014 County Championship, claiming 37 wickets across 11 first-class matches to help secure fourth place in Division One. His county career also spans Durham, Essex, Lancashire, and Somerset, establishing him as a seasoned English domestic campaigner.
Nottinghamshire cricket director Mick Newell expressed disappointment: We're sorry Siddle won't join us this summer. We were excited for his experience and skill. The team now seeks a suitable replacement, with Siddle's absence potentially disrupting T20 balance and seasoned leadership.
