important review meeting was held with the principals of government and funded
colleges affiliated to Lucknow University in the Gandhi Auditorium at Jan
Bhawan on Thursday under the chairmanship of the state Governor and Chancellor
Anandiben Patel.
The meeting was attended by the principals of 17 government and 33 funded
colleges affiliated with Lucknow University. Representatives from all colleges
gave detailed presentations of their institutions to the Chancellor. During the
presentations, detailed information was presented on college progress reports,
faculty status, various departmental functions, research and publications,
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) signed in various fields, sports
activities, social participation, tree plantation campaigns, NAAC and NIRF
rankings, student enrollment percentage, research activities, placements, job
fairs, patents, number of research papers, seminars held, library facilities,
total number of students, progress of construction work, status of laboratories
and computer rooms, scholarship distribution, and educational tour programs.
During the meeting, the Governor obtained information on the number of faculty
members working in colleges and the proportion of books published by them. He
also sought detailed information on student participation in sports activities,
the number of educational tours, and the current status of tree planting. He
directed that photographs of all sports and other co-curricular activities held
in colleges be properly preserved with geo-tagging.
The Governor encouraged the faculty members present, urging them to work
diligently, constantly motivate students, and maintain their activeness. He
directed them to ensure timely enrollment and appointments based on the vacant
positions in the colleges relative to the created positions. He also expressed
displeasure over the low student numbers and stressed the need to address the
reasons for this.
She inquired about the availability of staff in colleges, the condition of labs
and computer rooms, and directed them to strengthen them. The Governor
emphasized the need to increase research and development and directed teachers
and students to play an active role in promoting social participation in rural
areas. She specifically called for a village-to-village campaign to spread
awareness about the ill effects of tobacco, intoxication, and drugs.
The Governor emphasized the crucial responsibility of senior officials in
resolving college problems and directed everyone to act with sensitivity and
responsibility. He also directed regular and surprise inspections of hostels,
kitchens, and classrooms.
He said that young students studying in colleges and universities play a vital
role in achieving the goal of a developed India. Therefore, students should be
involved in various activities, skill development programs, and innovations, so
that they can develop new vision and leadership abilities.
The Governor encouraged colleges to actively participate in NAAC evaluations,
so that the quality of the institutions can be assessed and opportunities for
improvement can be found. He directed colleges to encourage faculty to write
books, strengthen libraries, and ensure clean and well-maintained toilets.
Emphasizing the effective use of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) funds,
he suggested increasing resources by coordinating with local industries and
banks. He also directed colleges to actively participate in public welfare
programs such as Anganwadi, TB eradication, and HPV vaccination.
The Governor described the lack of laboratories in colleges as a matter of
concern and urged them to ensure the necessary arrangements are made
immediately. He emphasized the need for necessary reforms in the educational
structure in accordance with the National Education Policy 2020 and urged
honorable ministers and officials to regularly review the progress of colleges.

the meeting's initiative and said that under the Governor's inspiration and
active leadership, Uttar Pradesh's higher education system has improved

On this occasion, Lucknow University Vice Chancellor Professor J.P. Saini
welcomed the meeting and stated that the university has approximately 530
affiliated colleges and currently has approximately 40,000 students. He stated
that regular meetings with colleges, preparations for NAAC evaluations, and
continuous efforts are being made to improve academic quality.
